Why Buy
|
Before you have
your glasses
prescription
filled,
you may want to
take the
True/False quiz
below.
The answers may
surprise you! |
|
|
|
- 1. TRUE or FALSE?
Glasses made from the same prescription will be the same,
regardless of where they are purchased.
Answer
FALSE!
There’s much more that goes into making you happy with a
pair of glasses than just the doctor’s prescription. The
type, size, and shape of the frame, the amount of tilt in
the frame, the degree to which the frame wraps around the
face, the distance between the centers of the two lenses,
the curvature of the lenses, the height at which any
bifocal, trifocal, or progressive features are set, and the
types of coatings or tints selected can all make a big
difference in how you like your glasses.
These are all the responsibility of the person who measures
you, fits you, orders and dispenses the glasses -- and
that’s why you want that person to be a fully licensed and
registered optician and not a sales clerk.
When these details aren’t properly addressed, you may not be
able to tolerate your glasses – even if the power itself is
exactly what the doctor ordered. At One-to-One EyeCare’s
convenient, in-office optical boutique, our optician, Paula
Watling, is a registered and licensed optician with more
than 30 years experience in the business. She’ll work those
details exactly right, and she’ll guarantee your
satisfaction!

2. TRUE or FALSE?
Buying glasses from a chain store or a discount warehouses
will cost less than buying your glasses in the doctor’s
office.
Answer
FALSE! You don’t have to
pay more to enjoy the unparalleled quality and service we
offer at One-to-One EyeCare’s in-office optical boutique. We
offer popular designer frames at lower prices than retail
boutiques, and we have introduced new frames and lenses
called “Value-Line” which competes with even the biggest
chain stores and discount warehouses.
Whatever your budget, we can help you find the glasses that
will keep you seeing your best and looking your best!

3. TRUE or FALSE?
People who sell glasses all have similar training and
experience.
Answer
FALSE! Many retail
stores, chain stores, and discount warehouses hire sales
people or clerks with no formal training to do the work of
helping you to select glasses, measuring you for glasses,
ordering glasses, and adjusting the fit of the glasses when
they arrive. These employees may be working under a licensed
optician but, more often than not, they are not opticians
themselves. Fully licensed and registered opticians have
extensive training and expertise in the selection, ordering,
and fitting of glasses; and they are much more likely to be
attentive to the fine details that can make the difference
between an “okay” pair of glasses and a “great” pair of
glasses. Our optician, Paula Watling is a fully licensed,
board certified, and registered optician. We think it makes
a big difference. And we think you’ll think so too!

4. TRUE or FALSE?
All optical shops offer similar quality, service, and
guarantees.
Answer
FALSE! The optical
boutique here at One-to-One EyeCare strives to make you
happier with your new eyeglasses than you’ve ever been
anywhere else. We offer the best quality frames, lenses,
technologies, coatings and accessories, and we take the
extra time needed to individualize your glasses to meet your
unique vision needs.
One of the ways that discount stores cut costs is to grind
your glasses prescription on what are called “stock base
curve” lenses. That means they grind a wide range of
prescription powers onto one size of lens blank curvature.
This is not the way to achieve your best vision.
The best vision is achieved with “optimized base curve
lenses” like we use here at One-to-One EyeCare. We select
the lens blank that is closest to your prescription and then
grind in only the “fine-tuning” needed to match your
prescription. This results in less distortion and less
likelihood of a pulling sensation, feelings of strain,
headache, or difficulty adjusting to the glasses.
Discount stores also generally feature very basic brands of
progressive bifocal lenses. We insist on brands that feature
the advanced technology that maximizes your vision and
comfort. In most cases, discount stores don’t offer the
lenses we sell. They make you settle for a lower quality
brand and hope you don’t notice the difference. We don’t
think you should have to settle.
Give us a chance to make your eyeglasses and we’ll show you
the difference that quality makes. And we’ll stand behind
it! We offer an unconditional 1 year guarantee on frames and
up to 90 days full satisfaction guarantee on lenses.
